Hello again and welcome back to another summer learning journey activity. This afternoon I did a art colouring book, I coloured in 3 kittens on a christmas evening. Here si some facts about christmas that is coming up very soon..

1)Christmas is a Christian festival that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, who Christians believe was the son of God. For most people, it takes place every year on 25 December – the day that the Roman Catholic Church chose to mark Jesus’ birthday. But, in fact, no one actually knows the exact date Jesus was born!

2)Legend has it, that candy canes were created to make choirboys quiet!, In Japan, a traditional christmas dinner is to go to KFC!, Celebrating Christmas used to be illegal for 260 years in the USA, Queen Victoria send the first official Christmas card.

This week we started a summer learning journey, there were 4 things for us to practice on so I wanted to do ‘paint with music’. How it works is you scribble lines in teh screen and the lines move to  form a person the soon later you have made a person. It is really easy because your computer does all the work just for you! You can also colour it in and publish it and if you are doing the summer learning journey than you can post it. Here is what I made so far, it isn’t finished but maybe you can tell what it is!.

oh and here is one fact about manga art, Manga probably originated back to the 12th century. Manga is a Japanese word that means “cartoons” or “comics”. Mangas are read backwards for a North American, from right to left. Each resident of Japan spends around $30 US for mangas each year.

In our homework we had to do a reflection on our school year since its the year 6’s last year. We had to write down answers to these questions:

1. what event do you remember the most? I remember family fun day the most because it ws really fun and I tried to remeber it the most because I will be leaving.

2. Why do you think you remeber it so clearly? because it brings back memories while I still have them.

3.what event did you enjoy the most? I enjoyed the mud run.

4.What did I enjoy about it? I enjoyed the mudrun because we had to do obstacles and go through mud at the same time.

5.What subject have I made the best improvement in? I have made a big improvment in maths because I used to be quite bad at it but now it is pretty easy to me and I have improved with my division.

At school we made taniko bands that go around we also learned NZ history of parihaka. The land of parihaka was taken in the 1860’s from many Maori tribes, two leaders – Te Whiti-o-Rongomai and Tohu Kakahi, set up a settlement for maori who lost their land and homes. When the goverment wanted to take this land as well, they protested in a non-violent way. So today we wore white to represent peace of parihaka. So we made taniko patterns for our hats. Here is some simple and easy steps on how we made it:

• get two long piece of shiny paper
• put double sided tape on one of the ends
• cut off the accsess
• draw on a pattern and go over with vivid and color in some bits
• peel off the taped side of the double sided tape
• stick the two sheets together
• put another piece of double sided tape on the other sheetand then put them together
• when your done then get normal tape and 1,2 or 3 feathers (white) and put the tape there (in the inside) and stick the feathers on

There and that show we did ours I reallly anjoyed doing it I kinda rushed through mine to get to the next part but here is some pictures.

Hi Bloggers,

I’m writing about my work that I have learned from.  I learnt somthing when we did work on ‘earthquakes’. I learnt more about earthquakes and how you know how high the scale is going to go is the scale moves forward a bit then it means there might be an earthquake! The scale has marks and the marks are lines which have numbers to tell you how high the earthquake is going so you are warned. I also learnt that earthquakes are VERY bad because we watched a video about the news of Christchurch’s earthquake a couple years ago. When we watched it there was an explosion in a mine and 29 men died and a japanese school students went missing they could hear typing and been getting messages while they are buried in buildings. Our teachers also showed us 2 trackers which show when earthquakes happened, and 7.1 or 7.2 is really  STRONG so it means it is also very dangerous. I also learned a few more different words that are based on the earthquake, toll, devastion, maginutude, comparable.

I am going to be telling you about my writing I have doing for the last 2 weeks. Here is an exaplain ” I want to be a pop star!” yelled Kiara, becomes, Paige announced that she wanted to be a football star. See the difference? or “I like your act” explained Zara, Zara explained she liked your cat. There is different way’s to put in your writing, when somone say’s something here is one more. “I want a dog!” yelled lily, as lily ran to the pet store door, It say’s what she’s doing. here a photo of the first slide.

 

 

On the secand slide were some exaplain’s and we had to write one of those things at the top, for the picture. There was a clown, balloons, firefighter and a police. Here is what it said at the top,

Hello Edublog View’s, It’s a little late for this blog, I’m going to be writing and telling you about STUDENT FUN DAY! I am so sure you will like it as much as I will. First wehad to wake up but we didn’t waer our uni-forms, we had to wear our house colours ( our house colours were named after birds ) and my house group name is kea! the best team. I was so cool looking at everything because I came early, but they had not put the ######### sorry I can’t tell you. e di the roll call there were so many colour’s when we finished the roll call we had to bring all our things outside so we could get into our groups. All the years six’s were in a group, the year 5’s were in a group and so on. When we were finished they played LOUD music in the backround, when everything was set, The year 6’s and 5’s did the pool and waterslide (that it what I blured ) I whose to do the waterslide first.The waterslide looked cool but it was very LONG… When I went down it was FREEZING because it was on a friday. A few min’s later we got to go with a partner so I went with my friend Creole but when we went down I HURT myself I got some scares and tiny roasty’s on my hands and knee’s, so me and Creole went to the pool, but when we went in it was so WARM but when the people that were in the pool when the others were on the waterslide WE GOT TO STAY IN. When they came in there faces were so shocked when they realsied the pool was like a hut-tub. A few min’s later (again) we had to hop out and change. Out next thing we did was obstacle races so there was this boncy castle that has obstcale’s in it. Did you know that THE TEACHER’S RACED? anyway we had to go through the bouncy castle then, around the poles under the trench, and then do the whole playground, and run to the start again.We had to move on to the bouncy castle everyone was so exited, more than me. THere was a pirate ship and a slide lots oh people got burns when they slid down, it’s because it’s not like the normal playgroung one, its inflated. I went on both and I think the pirate ship was the best one because the slide gave me burns!. We also had an option that we could go on wheels, if you don’t know what wheels are you bring or take a bike, scooter, skateboard. I did all of them so I went alot on the pirate ship than the slide and then the wheel’s. I think more kids injoyed the slide more but I think the prate ship is the best. When our time was up, we had lunch on the mats and we only had little time to eat food till we had to pack up. The teacher’s explaned what we were going to do with everything when we were done eating when the time was up we had to pack the sport’s away and put the amts in a pile rolled up. When we managed to pack all the thing swe need away we had to wait for the bin’s to go away, so we sat on the deck waiting. So when that was done we packed our bag’s ready to go home.

Hello again this is my se– im sorry I didn’t introduce myself my name is londyn I’m a year 6! anyway restart. This is my secand post if you haven’t seen my first one please read it then come to this one anyway I’m going to be telling you my school routine at uh school ya. Normaly we have writing first we have a google graw that has mon tue wes and on, on and i’m in a writing group I love it because my bff, Kiara is there, do you like writing?. next we have reading I’m everyone has a reading class somtimes it’s there normal class :>. Then morning tea now… because of covid-19 playtime has changed so today morning tea we were on the bank and lunch play we were on field and playground.  After that we had finishing off so we got these picures we had to colour, they were based on sea week but that was a long time ago.

That’s all I have today I hope you have a week end! BYEE! oh and a message that all my post’s are based on school life so ill be doing this for a very long time

Hello Ebublog view’s i’m going to be telling you about my struggle’s in math’s. We have been looking in Dojo vidoes about Growth Mindset like don’t rush, take your time, you don’t need to be smart to have good answer’s. I have done a Lego creation’s slideshow, here is a photo of what it look’s likeand after i’ll be telling you some struggle’s I had doing it.

Now,, since you have seen it I cane tell you some struggle’s, I found it hard to do it because there were lot’s of thing’s happening at the same time and I was stressing like, can I do it. Somtime’s the worrie’s you have control your emotion like yout worrie’s!.
